I had to stop breastfeeding with my baby who had her tongue tie released, there was immediate differences but not enough to successfully breastfeed and she could only take milk from a bottle. Have you spoken to infant feeding team about this? They're amazing at giving advice tailored to you and your baby xx
@Phoebe-grace they told me they can offer support post 28 days !! Just so lost how long to give it before I give up
@Kate 🤞🏼🌈 are you part of any breastfeeding support groups on Facebook? Xx
@Kate 🤞🏼🌈 could mention it to your health visitor too and GP! Xx
@Kate 🤞🏼🌈 have you tried expressing into bottles?xx
@Phoebe-grace yes I’ve tried but not much luck yet and it was so time consuming for 2.5 ounces. I’ve been too BF clinic every week. So not sure how long to give tongue-tie release time to work
My son had a severe tongue tie. He had almost no range of motion to the left at all and most his milk spilled out of the side of his mouth. Post op he had immediate improvement feeding off the bottle but still had issues latching. We had to do lots of exercises to improve his range of motion and unfortunately my milk was long gone by the time he got the hang of things. The recovery was hell for me but overall I'm beyond happy with the results. Although breast feeding didn't work out for us his gas and feeding issues drastically improved pretty much immediately. The TT release surgery doest always fix everything right away but I know for a fact we wouldn't be where we are today if we didn't get it.
