Debrief

Has anyone had experience of a maternity debrief at Colchester hospital? How did you organise it and was it a phone call or in person? Thanks!

I was meant to however they were meant to send me an appointment through and I never got it. My little boy is now 11 months old 🤦

Can't even get a call to discuss my home birth plan with them, so good luck! 🙄

I did but it was after my first child / when I was pregnant with my second which is 10 years ago now! If my memory serves me right, it was arranged by my midwife and was done in person at the hospital. It was really useful and made me much more empowered for my subsequent births.

I asked my midwife a few days after birth and I was contacted by the birth reflections team a few weeks later and had the meeting 8 weeks later. They gave me the option of telephone or in person, I chose in person and had the meeting, it was helpful and gave me closure. They told me if I thought of any questions afterwards I could still contact them.

I emailed pals and was given a form to fill in and this email address to send it too: birth.reflections@esneft.nhs.uk I was then given an appointment to discuss

I was told I’d been referred but didn’t get any contact from the team so I ended up contacted the birth reflections team directly myself and had a meeting with a midwife & also one with an anaesthetist (to talk about that specific part of my c section). I found it really helpful & definitely worth pushing for if you feel you need to!
