The wait in between scans

I booked private scans and bought a Doppler xx

my midwife did the doppler on me and and that gave me reassurance. you could also have a private scan if that would help ? i played it by ear with how i felt as the weeks progressed re additional scan. i’m so sorry for your previous losses 🩷😔

@Stella I’ve wanted to hold off private scans so much 😂 I have been looking at Doppler but seen mixed reviews so wasn’t sure, it is easy to find heartbeat yourself?xx

@Em did you ask your midwife for that as I had my appointment on Wednesday and she didn’t even mention it she mentioned movement and booked in my next appointment and glucose test that’s it xx

@Chelsea no i didn’t actually. she just mentioned that she’ll ’listen to baby’. i wonder if you could ask? not sure if it’s trust dependant? you can buy dopplers amazon but some say they can be more anxiety inducing. tricky one xxx

@Em that’s what I’ve heard, I mean I am definitely getting bigger I already feel like a heffer and I still have symptoms, the twitches/flutters/kicks what ever they are 😂 are becoming more frequent so there’s things happening but I can’t shake the constant worry and fear for my next scan 🤦🏽‍♀️ xx

I had a private gender scan in between. If you have had losses do they not give you more scans for reassurance? As your midwife if possible. Not long to wait now x

@Amy I was wish recurrent miscarriage team so had a scan at 6 weeks,8 weeks and 11 weeks they then discharged me and I’ve only had my 12 week scan, I get a scan at 28 weeks and 32 weeks but that’s it 🤷🏼‍♀️ xx

I didn’t cope in all honestly haha. I think that was the longest time. I was just sitting there waiting and waiting until I would reach the next week in my pregnancy. I think you can ask the midwife if you can do a heartbeat check, and make sure everything is well! ☺️

I paid for a private scan in between and before the 12 week scan previously and have done the same this time. Being reassured and calm is good for the baby so for me it felt important to give the money and have the scans xx

Just staying busy it’s been a long wait but we’ve been decorating babies room & upstairs, I think having an older child is a great distraction too 😃 and I just think if there was something wrong surely eventually there’s be signs ? If everything seems ok then it probably is?
