We moved the feed back one step. So feed then book before sleep time. She took to it straight away but you may need to introduce gradually.
If you want to move the feed but not drop it entirely, move it up in the routine - we do jammies, then milk, then brush teeth, then book, then rock, and bed. If you want to drop the feed entirely start with one at a time. Drop the amount (or, if BF, time feeding) by a little every day or every other day, until it's basically nothing. If you have to you can also try to replace it with water. Make sure to make up the amount in other feeds, maybe give them a few extra minutes each time during the day / outside of naps.
@Rebecca this is really useful! Thank you
Just in case you don’t want to stop feeding to sleep, you don’t have to. Different parents (/caregivers) can have different bedtime routines. Ie dad rocks to sleep, mum feeds to sleep and it will still work. Emma Pickett had a post on it about 3-4 weeks ago. @Moon thank you! I did wonder this as she falls asleep independently in the car and pram
@Moon @Jen exactly this! I carried on feeding my eldest to sleep when I was with her, but she went to sleep in different ways for my husband, her grandparents and nursery staff. They all find a way, you don’t need to stress yourself out trying to stop feeding to sleep 💕
@Lauren amazing to hear, thank you!
