Nursery Issues
Wondering if I could get some advice here about nursery.
My little boy has been in the same nursery for over a year and the last few months has moved into the big toddler room and since then a few things have happened that I’m just not sure if I’m overreacting to or if I should address with the managers.
First thing I noticed was in December it was icy, freezing cold I collected him at 5pm he had a t-shirt on with his jacket I always pack a jumper, hat and gloves as well as his jacket etc and he was freezing when I picked him up he was crying telling me his hands were ‘sore’ they were red and his ears etc, staff told me he refused his hat I said well then don’t let him outside?
Second thing was the other week I picked him up I’m 100% sure his nappy wasn’t changed all day he had done number 2 and he legs were all wet as well as a rash it was disgusting I did speak to the manager about this one as it was upsetting.
Then the other day I picked him up, he has a big puddle suit he wears at nursery if he’s outside now since the first jacket incident but he didn’t have it on, he had a jacket on, his wellies were on the wrong feet, his trousers and socks were soaking wet and he was absolutely freezing he’s now loaded with a Cold not surprising 🥲.
Anyways, that’s a huge rant but that’s primarily the things coming up and I don’t know if I’m just being over protective as they obviously can’t provide 1 on 1 care in a nursery setting but also it is all quite neglectful.
I have to say the nursery is amazing and the girls are lovely he does love them all and has a great time there so it’s hard.
Any advice?
I would have a conversation with the manager and raise your concerns. I would not be happy with those incidents either.
