At what age did you stop checking on your baby’s at night?

My husband calls me a “smother” bc I still check on my 2 and 3 year old before I got to bed.

My dad said he would come sit at the end of my bed when I was 16 and listen to me breathing for a few minutes. Then he would go to bed.

@Zainab🗝️ this is me as a parent

I still have a monitor with picture and sound in my 2 year olds room 🤷🏻‍♀️

My daughters three in a couple of months and I have a monitor in my room but I still go into her room before I go to bed

I still check on mine. 3 and 1

I have a monitor in my 20m old room but I don’t check it anymore lol. Only for the temp in her room to adjust the cooling/heating. I wouldn’t dream of entering her room and disturbing her I’d be so anxious I’d wake her. Probably haven’t “checked” on her breathing since she was 9 mths but probably earlier

It’s normal to check, and he’s not being fair. I hate when people make you feel bad about something as normal as this. You’re checking on your small children for goodness sake.

@Zainab🗝️ this gutted me 😭 how fucking sad but sweet at the same time he must’ve been having anxiety

We've got cameras for both of them. 11m and 2.5yr. I check them regularly. I'll also pop my head round and check they're okay before I go to bed. @Zainab🗝️ Awwwh that's sweet 🥰 I used to do that for my parents. I'd stand outside their door and make sure I could hear them breathing. Anxiety sucks, but it just shows how much he loves you ❤️

@🩷 Patience 🩷 my dad has had a really tragic life. It's super messed up so yeah definitely anxiety.

My mom did this for as long as I could remember and as she was nearing the end of her life, I found myself doing the same to her. When people are precious and vulnerable, it's just what we do.

Still doing it with my 11 year old.. probably pop over to her house when she moves out to check in too 😂

I have monitors in their rooms still at 1 and 3 years old. I usually go in and check the temps in their rooms but always check the monitor before I go to bed and when I wake up in the middle of the night

I would if my nearly 3 year old still had a camera, but he kept pulling it down because he didn't like the lights on it.

Do you and your husband sleep together in one room, or see each other before going to sleep? Because if the answer is yes, idk how that’s okay but checking in on your little children isn’t. 🫠

I have a monitor in both with sound on at night and I'll check it before bed but honestly I work such a physical job that there's no waking up to go check on them unless they make noise lol 🤷🏼‍♀️ they sleep through the night most nights though so it works well for me! 3yo and 1yo

My son is 15 years old, and if he has a big cough or unusual noise, i check on him, or if he has been unwell during the day, I'll check on him during the night.

When I sleep at my parents house my mom still check me. I am 39 hahah

I don’t check on my baby. He snores 😵‍💫😂 I can hear him walking past. I think I stopped at about a year old .

I checked the camera 4 times in 1.5 hours today lol

For my girls I check if they don’t get up to nurse often or as they normally do at night & with my son he’s closest to me sleeps in our room with us they all do so I can hear him snoring lowly usually unless he’s taking longer to wake up at times in the morning I usually don’t but again they’re with me all night 🫠but at nap times I don’t really check on my kids usually I may just check to make sure that my 3 year old is asleep & my girls are nursed to nap time usually

I didn’t stop checking on them until they were teenagers..But I still do check on them anyway..so I guess I never stopped..Kids need to be checked on because they’re nuts..

My son is six and my twins are 2 1/2. I still wake up and check on them in the middle of the night at least twice.

I think it's gonna be a for everything regardless once they move out you're still gonna check on them to make sure they're alive and breathing

@Zainab🗝️ I am constantly taking the cameras at least four times throughout the day actually online four times at night during the day they up my ass

I don’t have an answer for this and I think every answer will differ. The only thing I’d say to this is check in as little or as much as you’re comfortable with. They are only little once. ❤️ There is no right or wrong mama.

We have a ring camera in my 4 year olds room which I still check, and obv it goes off if he gets out of bed.

Stopped using a monitor when they were 3 & 5.

My baby is about to be a year and a half AND she sleeps right next to me.... i am still always checking on her. Some say is being a helicopter, I just really care and love her lol 😅

I have a monitor in my 21month old room and I check on him before I go to bed, and will continue to do so for a long time

My daughter is 2.5 and we still use a monitor. Don't pop into her room.
