Milk never came in

I’m formula feeding and always planned to so it isn’t an issue. However I tried to collect colostrum when at the end of my pregnancy but was bone dry! Just assumed it’s because my milk wouldn’t come in till after baby was born. Midwife told me around day 3-4 my milk would come in, my boobs would feel heavy etc. but had nothing at all, no symptoms. Only worried that if I decide to breastfeed any future children that I won’t be able to. Did anyone else find that their milk never came in?

With my first I had to induce it with massage and hand expressing as my daughter was in NICU. I'm assuming that because you wanted to bottle feed that you didn't do that. I've just had baby two and no issues with milk supply.

I had no luck with collecting colostrum while pregnant. I also had to formula feed for the first day and a half due to her being very small and dehydrated. In that day and a half, I spent massaging, hand expressing and using the initiator setting on the manual pump and by day 2, I was able to collect around 20ml after spending 10 mins on the pump. X

First time round I had to formula feed but this time my milk came in fine once baby arrived. No colostrum during pregnancy though.

I have a friend who couldn’t collect colostrum and had no milk at all, she tried all of the things they say work such as warm compress, eating oats etc she tried hand expressing, using a pump and even the midwife tried to hand express and there was nothing. Fast forward 2 years later and shes been able to breastfeed her new little boy, she still couldn’t collect colostrum when pregnant tho so she assumed her milk wouldn’t come in again but after day 3 it did x
