How to stop co-sleeping

Please help any advice would be great. My 14 month old has been co-sleeping with me for maybe the past 4 to 5 months since he got sick last October. I, however am over it. I'd like my bed back to myself. His crib is in my room. Prior to this he had no issues sleeping in there. Now I can't put him in there without him screaming and crying even if I am in the room and he can see me. I just need some advice on what's worked and hasn't worked for other mama's that also had to deal with this.
