They will advise a cream for him,get it asap from pharmacy & use it sparingly.. keep him well hydrated and look out for how many wet nappies he has, the more the better. He will need lots of cuddles & comfort first couple of days
They jus give u vasaline to put on it after every diaper change thats it thats wat they did w mine
My son was circumcised before we even left the hospital.
No, unless a medical reason, it’s mutilation.
@Madelynn same with me and gauz and change after each changing for 7-10 days
@Shannon dont come on here saying that tryna make someone feel bad for doing it and watching out for their kids hygiene and best interest. You do wats best for urs and everyone else will do the same. Lol
@Madelynn definitely not trying to make anyone feels bad but it’s disgusting and abuse.
@Madelynn practise what you preach babe
@Shannon oh girl be quiet. It is not abuse lmfao. Weirdo
@Shannon yes! Could not agree more

@Shannon that's not what was asked. Skip the post
We did salt water bath with ours for a few days after, no bubble bath of anything. Vaseline on the nappy, not directly on the skin xx
I’ve circumcised my boy, he was only 2 weeks old so I think it depends on their age and which practitioner you use but they’ll be able to support you in the after care. We were told to do daily baths for 2 weeks with just water no soap and for the first 24 hours a nappy change every hour and lashings of Vaseline. Our little one was absolutely fine within 10 mins of the procedure and fully healed in a few days. I have no regrets and it was easier than we thought it would be! Ps. Circumcision posts will always attract hate so don’t take vicious comments personally. Your baby, your choice. ❤️
Soaking baby in lukewarm water for 10-15 minutes a day. Dollops of Sudocrem on the area so it doesn’t stick to nappy. When I say dollops, we got through 3 big tubs of Sudocrem within a week & little man healed really well, so I highly recommend it! Can always add a barrier of Vaseline too on top & keep nappy loose 🫶🏻 Oh & @Shannon, you need to do your research before you state what is disgusting & what isn’t. Here’s some light reading for you: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3684945/ https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/news/articles/2012/10/greater-benefits-of-infant-circumcision#:~:text=We%20have%20substantial%20science%20to,of%20penile%20cancer%20over%20a 🫶🏻
@Shannon agreed. Unless medically needed, that’s why most nhs hospitals do not do it.
@Jess honestly curious.. what about it is religious? Like what do you achieve in your religion by doing this; and how does anyone KNOW if it’s done? Like are they checking?
@Rachel hey, just have to interject here… from what I’ve gathered there’s something called Google, please search “religious meaning of circumcision” and you’ll be able to form your own interpretation from Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Your question is broad and I think you seek understanding, which you won’t get from a new mother at this present time as she is attending to her child after she has made her own informed decision for her own child. If you’d also like to know how anyone would know that it’s been done, you can find your answer through Google, or take it up with a religious figure head of your choosing so they can teach you further, very antagonising questions to put toward a mum just trying to get some advice.
@Lavern wow! So helpful thanks. 😊
@Shannon I allowed My husband to pick since he is a man, knows more whats a better choice. we had our son circumcise. Some guys with foreskin can get diseases or cancer due to foreskin. But everyone has their opinion but yours wasn’t necessarily… every parent is different.
We put vaseline on his private and on the diaper. Dont bath within 48 hours or told otherwise. Dont scrub/rub. Sponge bath with warm water. Maybe ask what can he take for pain (ibuprofen, or Tylenol) if you’re swaddling don’t swaddle too tight near his area because it’s very sensitive. Definitely keep an eye out if anything changes down there immediately contact your doctor
Hi, we put lots of vaseline on the nappy to prevent any rubbing, gave him warm baths for 10mins everyday and kept the area clean. The ring came off on day 8, we continued to put vaseline on nappy for a week after until the skin looked like it was healed. He was a bit of discomfort for the first 2 days. They gave us some numbing gel to use and used paracetamol/calpol a couple of times a day to help for the first couple of days after that he was ok.
Water clean, absolutely no harsh soaps. Don't put baby wipes on the area either. Just water wash with a soft cloth when changing him. Let dry, completely, then pack a gauze pad with a&d or some sort of jelly, and place it over his scar
