I’ve heard that infacol can sometimes make it worse. I’ve started using Dentinox which you can add directly to baby’s bottle and my little girl seems much happier now, she used to get so uncomfortable after feeds and seemed really gassy, but since using Dentinox she’s passing gas much easier and is much happier after a feed x
Ah I haven’t heard of dentinox il have a look into it! Thanks! Il continue with gripe water only for now but with his reflux he pukes it back out. I did use gaviscon but worried it’s making his trapped wind worse
I would maybe try colief? My eldest had infacol and it worked great but it didn’t for my second who also had reflux, colief on its own made a massive difference! Try that in baby’s milk and see if it helps before you switch milk or do anything drastic x
I think infacol and gripe water work well i use both but everyone different I brought them all before baby was born just incase . I also brought colief I heard its very good but again everyone different its all trial and error but with the colief if you purchase try less drops to start than straight to the 4 drops I think it was. My son didn't take to colief well but it's added straight to the milk
Hey, I asked the same question my HV team and they responded that it’s either one or the other, not both. Infacol is better as it’s not as strong and can be used from birth so it’s better to start with and see if it improves. Give it a few days before writing it off though. Then if it doesn’t and your little one is over 1 month old, change it to gripe water. Infacol needs to be administered with every feed or after while gripe water can be used on demand, for example in the evenings when it gets worse
Gripe water isn’t recommended for breastfed baby’s
Thanks guys some really useful information here ❤️
@Donna Woods oh I had no idea! Just saw my health advisor and she didn’t mention that when I said I breast feed and gave him gripe water 😅 - how comes it shouldn’t be given?
I’m actually not sure 🤔 it was something the health visitor mentioned to me when I asked about it due to baby seeming uncomfortable with gas. I took her at her word but having a quick google now, it appears she was wrong 🤦🏻♀️
Oh dear 😅 we never really know - different health advisors and midwives always say different things x
With my little lad and his reflux we been prescribed baby gaviscon because it instantly thickens the food as is unable to come bk up like just normal formula , we can see very slow improvements he’s drinking his bottles normally again and no spitting his milk out it’s only been 3days so hopefully more improvement soon and feeding him sat upright and keep him up right 30mins after feeds
