Weight loss postpartum

Hi ladies! I’m not sure if this is normal or not so I’m asking here! I lost 6kg in the first trimester just with nausea etc then gained it back in the 3rd so I never actually gained any weight or anything but since my LO was born 12 days ago I’ve lost 13kg. I did have a traumatic birth with blood loss and I’m also breastfeeding so I know these can contribute but I’m not sure if 13kg in 12 days is too much or concerning!

Don’t worry! I lost 7kg after birth and then another 9 kg within next 2 weeks. I came back to the weight from before pregnancy. As long as you eat and sleep - you should be fine!

Think it’s normal. This time I have lost 8.5kg in the first two weeks. With my first baby I had lost 2 stone in two weeks. Just make sure you are eating enough, especially with breastfeeding xx

I lost 18kg with my first and also had a traumatic birth with blood loss. I’m not sure how much I’ve lost this time as my scales haven’t been working for ages 😂 but I know I’ve lost a chunk and my belly is thinner than before I fell pregnant. Had a big blood loss too this time bur less than last x

A lot of the weight gained are things like excess fluid, the baby, the placenta, amniotic fluid etc and it's normal to lose quite a bit of the weight gained quickly from the birth. I do find I lose weight unintentionally breastfeeding even with eating constantly because it takes so much energy from me.
