I had multiple clots in a superficial vein (varicose) that was diagnosed 4 days pp, I think as I had an epidural & minimal movement for around 20h. I had a patch of swelling, warm to touch, red ans sore. I’d definitely get it checked out, I was given an ultrasound scan of the veins in my leg to rule out DVT. Treatment was a longer course of the blood thinning injections I’d been given to prevent clots at discharge.
They are quite keen to know if swelling is bigger in one leg than the other when they’re assessing this stuff I found - guess that’s how they distinguish between the usual swelling and possible clots
Is it swollen and warm in one specific area do you have a red splotch
