@Kasia it's a nightmare isn't it! i managed to get her to take about 20ml from a mam bottle the other day but today she is just crying every time we try. really need her to take one as my husband and i are seeing a band next month!
@keisha I honestly did not think it would be that difficult, we also tried mam bottle (size 2 teat) but she went hysterical, the reaction was worse than after a vaccine! The second time we tried I changed the teat size to 0 and she took a bit more but still not enough for us to be able to leave her with my mum for a longer period of time. We may try size 1 next time and see how it goes. What I noticed is that the second time when she drank a little bit, it was my partner giving her a bottle without me in the room, have you tried that? Hopefully someone else can give us some tips 🤞🏻🤞🏻
@Kasia yeah we are using the size 0 as well, that was the one that she actually drank from! yeah i think i'm going to get my husband to try again later when i'm upstairs or something. my first was the same, she refused a bottle whenever we tried, but then when i had to be away for a few hours at 9 months she took one fine with her dad😅
Try movement so standing up rocking while giving it and just persist. We give a bottle everyday at the same time as we did with our first and it worked well. That way they get used to taking a bottle and can easily take it when needed or if /when you decide to stop BF x
have you tried having someone else give it to them when you’re not in the room? i’ve heard they won’t take one well when mums is around cos they know mums there with the boob 😅
We’ve given up 😅 tried offering one a day since 2 weeks old and she’s maybe had some of a bottle maybe twice? At 4 months, many different bottles and teats we both decided to give up
We tried so many teats. My little one got on best with lansinoh and prefers a faster flow. He seemed to get frustrated with the slower ones and anything shaped differently. Hope that helps. We tried and tried and tried so keep going if you feel you can!
