That’s normal. I used to worry about it too. My son would go 3 days without pooping. Then by day 4, he would have a blowout. It can depend on whether they are primarily drinking breast milk (easier to digest) or formula (harder to digest). When in doubt, contact your pediatrician, but I’m sure they will say something similar (lol I’ve contacted mine several times about this issue).
Normal to go up to week, especially if breastfed. Try baby belly massages (pressure as you would rubbing your eyes), warm baths, and bicycle kicks. They will eventually get into a pattern where you can predict which day they are going to poop and be ready with extra clothes
A warm bath, gentle tummy & foot rubs in a clockwise direction & some bicycle legs whilst in the water was a big help for my little one as a newborn when constipated x
Before 6 weeks and if breastfed should be going at least once a day… after this time normal to go up to 10 days.
Yes! Sadly it’s normal. At birth they have a reflex that makes them poop after every feeding and it starts to integrate around a month old. Then they have to learn how to coordinate all their muscles to actually make it happen. It’s frustrating to watch but you can give belly massages, bicycle kicks, and put them in positions that can help move things along!
