Activities for one year olds

I have recently moved to Manchester from London and have a 1 year old. What activities do you do with your toddlers/where is good to go? How do you spend your weekends? Any websites etc to keep on top of what's going on in the city? Thanks

Whereabouts in Manchester are you, and what do you do enjoy doing with your toddler? I’ll name a few different franchises & ideas to maximise your chances of finding something local! ARTventurers offer art-based classes from baby to school-aged children (some weekend classes too). We’ve been to ones in Cheadle (run by Nikki) and Sale (run by Rachel) which were both really good. Tumble Tots is a physical based class, a bit like baby PE! There’s lots of equipment to climb on and slide down. We go to the Tottington classes and they’re good. Not sure if they run any at the weekend. We’ve found Forest School sessions across Bolton for outdoor play - I’m sure there will be more running across Manchester though. Our cinema (The Light in Bolton) do toddler time sessions during the week and weekend morning. It’s £3.50 for a parent and pre schooler, and is usually short age appropriate screenings like Julia Donaldson adaptations, Shaun the Sheep etc…

… There’s a cinema in Altrincham that does something similar and I’m sure there will be more across Manchester doing the same too. Water babies and Puddle ducks offer swimming lessons across the city. Grand Central in Stockport swimming baths has a really good toddler section / pool. Head over Heels in Chorlton and Wilmslow are really good soft plays. Inflata Nation do toddler sessions - I’ve not been yet though so not sure what it’s like! We also go to petting farms - there’s Smithills, Cockfields and Reddish Vale to name a few. Cockfields often do toddler events too. Hope these suggestions help x

Thank you for your reply. I'm in prestwich. In london we generally socialised with friends with babies and went to groups. There were always exhibitions etc , bring your baby pub quizz , bring baby bingo etc and I did a lot of that stuff. Thanks for the recommendations above. Forest school and baby PE sound great. Good to know re cinema when she a little older Farms are great idea. Thank you this post is soooooo helpful Lots of ideas! Xx
