maybe it was just a me thing but when i went into labor with my first i just knew it was labor
@Michaela atp this some alarm bells going on in my head but im like second guessing myself too so 😭
@Mariah atp alarm bells
Like for me for the past three days like at eight in the morning when I go use the bathroom or in general, my body just automatically wakes up. I have like this pain in my lower stomach and then when I take a shower, the pain is completely gone, and then the baby starts kicking. I don’t know what it is. Maybe the baby is growing or maybe it is contractions.
Have you tried drinking water? You might be dehydrated, which can make the contractions worse. I started having contractions and loss of appetite the other day I had two in one hour. I took a warm bath and drank some Propel and water, and have been resting since. When I talked to my ob she said they really start to worry if you have 4 distinct in one hour and start spotting or lose the mucus plug all together. This is my second pregnancy and I never had Braxton hicks with my first but this pregnancy I have had a lot of different things happen including Braxton hicks but they are nothing like labour. I also suffer from worry due to a high pain tolerance but you will know if you're in labour. It does this weird arching pain and will just be over it doesn't really dissipate like the Braxton hicks. I hope this was helpful! Hydrate and rest!
@Maire Yes!! sorry just added to OP but that is what sent me in to get monitor like 2 weeks ago and since then any time i’ve experienced pains i do drink a lot of water, warm bath/shower, nap and they’d go away pretty immediately but this time round im doing all those same things and they are still persistent which is why im concerned… 😦
@Maire and they have definitely been consistent within the hours like anywhere between 6-10 an hour varying
Do you have any vaginal symptoms like loosing your mucus plug? Blood or spotting?
@Valerie no not yet which i’m glad
How are you doing now? Did they do a cervix check to make sure you're not dilating? There's three things I think it could be: 1. Prodromal/false labor. It's like braxton hicks but consistent, real contractions that aren't strong enough to actually dilate you. 2. Bad braxton hicks brought on by the loose stools, which caused extra dehydration. If you haven't, try drinking stuff with electrolytes like a Gatorade or liquid IV. 3. Early stages of labor. If you go back to the hospital, insist they check to see if you're dilating. If you are, there are ways to slow labor and get your body and baby prepared for a preterm delivery. They would likely do a cervical cerclage/ basically a little stitch to help keep your cervix closed. They can also give you steroids, which will help develop your baby's lungs. Personally, I would go back for a second check, or go to a different hospital for a second opinion.
Hey! So I was feeling like this last week. But I also had a cold and I just figured it was contributing to the fact that my body was just achey. I did end up going to l&d ER and they said I was severely dehydrated. I was put on IV for 48hrs and everything stopped. This was last week. Sometimes we feel like we have enough fluids but I guess we don’t. 🤷🏻♀️ Try drinking fluids and contact your OB.
I’m feeling the same way too. I don’t know what’s going on also
