Consultant care

Hello, I have been put under consultant care due to my previous pregnancy and PCOS and higher BMI, I didn’t have this with my first. I have my first appointment in 2 weeks.. has anyone else had one? What happens at this appointment? Thanks

I'm under consultant care due to my other health conditions. Our first appointment was just to say hello and explore the rest of pregnancy and labour. Was very brief.

Mine was very quick, told me that I needed a c section that I knew then said see you at 34 weeks 🤣

I'm on consultant lead care too for higher BMI and previous c-section. They'll talk a bit about gestational diabetes and foods that reduce the glycemic index. Its also an opportunity to discuss birth options

Just went through what health conditions I had, some blood test results and then said I will need extra scans. I have a scan and consultant appointment pretty much every month leading up to the due date. Think it’s depends on what conditions you have.

I had consultant led care for my first, midwife for 2nd, I’m exactly the same weight and same health conditions… only difference I had for 1st was extra scans and more focus on blood pressure … did feel pressured to have c-section but stood firm and had vaginal delivery
