How old was your baby when you let them stay over their dads house (his parents place)

My babe is 13months and her sleep isn’t great so would really like a couple nights off a week but also don’t want her to leave me as I still think she’s so young and needs me to be there when she wakes. We have a great co parenting relationship, and remain friends, I’ve stayed at my parents a few times and he’s stayed at my flat with her, but sometimes I’d love to just be in my own bed etc. how old was your babe when they stayed over their dads? Also - anyone done the Ferber method and it was successful?

Me & my sons dad broke up when he has only 2/3 months old so then xx

Hey! This sounds exactly like my situation. My son is currently 8 months, we’ve agreed for overnights to begin at around 10 months, im not happy as he doesn’t live local and doesn’t have much prior experience with him overnight. We’re on more of a mutual set of terms, unfortunately not as great as id hope to be. My son is still a very unsettled sleeper, im lucky to get 4 hours a night. And would love a break but then again have my worries. You’re welcome to PM me 💙

My boy is 2 in April and have no plans of doing overnights but his dad has a history of drug abuse so I don’t trust him, if you are happy for her to go then it would work well for you all, just start small with once a week and go from there!

I don’t have any issues with his parenting or anything and he’s very trustworthy and know she’s in safe hands, it’s just the mum worry I guess. What if she’s constantly crying and I’m not there. His parents live local…about 20 minute walk away but I don’t drive and he doesn’t have a car at the moment so if anything does happen just feel like I’m stuck 😭 Maybe I just need to learn to let go a bit

Is there any way you could also sleep there out of sight for the first night to help her get use to sleeping in a new environment? That way the mam worry/anxiety would be at bay and if you’re needed you’re there!

My son was 2 x
