For those who’s babies don’t eat much (not just a phase)

For those who’s LO have never eaten much, I’m not talking about LOs who may go off their food during sickness / teething etc… I mean, never been big on food. A few spoonfuls a meal is a success sort of thing What are you planning to do / doing about it? Is it a case of trusting the process and that they may just be late to enjoy food just as there are “late” walkers, speakers etc? Are you planning to speak to the doctors if it gets to a specific stage / age My main concern is iron intake given my LO barely eats but also calories… we are NO WAY near 1000 calories a day (this is was Google is saying we should be on but not sure how accurate this is). I keep an eye on weight and it is going up… but not as fast as Google says it should be (again, not sure how accurate that is) but still staying within centile so not as worried about this as I am iron. LO still obsessed with breast milk… I’ve tried cutting back on that in hopes to see food intake improvement but that did nothing and now there’s just slightly less milk intake and no food increase. Interested in other people’s experience / advice please

Hey I thought about posting something a bit like this today cause my boy was late to pick up solids properly and still doesn’t love food…To start we were probably continuing to give him too much milk and we have cut down and he’s doing alot Better but he still isn’t into it. I know you should but I do compare to my niece who hoovers everything at any time whereas my boy just doesn’t want it… proper took it for granted that he’d love it, as me and his dad are proper piglets. Tbh I’m trying not to stress and like you say just trusting the process and hoping keeping things stress free and positive will help not make anything worse but who really knows. I lean a lot on what I know he likes - adding options for new stuff and just try and focus on what he does eat.. 🫠🫠

I’m not here to give advice but hopefully to also receive it. My little boy survives off a crumpet, juice and air everyday. It stresses me out, I’m concerned and bothered by it. We’ve taken him doctors twice but palmed off that it’s normal. I can’t see how it’s possibly normal when he’s getting 0 nutritional value x

Trusting the process 🙏 Silmilarly to you, LO still breastfeeds so I know she is getting a lot of nutrition that way. In terms of iron, we give her a vitamin a/c/d +iron supplement daily so that gives me confidence she won’t be deficient. And we make sure that the little she does eat is nutritious! I think if they are growing on track with their centile and still playing well, energetic etc, you don’t have a reason to worry

And totally agree with @Christina about keeping mealtimes stress free and positive! Don’t want her to get any nervousness about food

What iron vitamins do you recommend?
