Congestion

Anyone's LO congested and finding it hard to get any sleep? My baby girl has been congested the last week which has resulted in her mainly only being able to sleep while contact napping on our chests. When she's on her back she makes a lot of grunting/choking like sounds (we use an Owlet and her oxygen levels are always good). We've been doing warm baths before bed, saline drops and using a snot sucker but still end up with her waking herself up frequently. I brought her to the doctor's and shes all good, just a bit congested. Anyone in a similar boat and found things that have helped? Struggling to stay up for 3/4 hours at a time until my partner can take over again.

We are in exactly the same boat. My LO is 5 weeks old and has been like this for past 3! It’s really difficult to let them sleep on their backs isn’t, even when owlet says everything is all good. Just came to say I have the same here! The last week she has been snotty and I’m sitting here with her sleeping upright on my chest as is the only position she can breathe freely without grunting choking crying etc! Saline drops up her nose before I feed her seems to help a little bit but other than that I have nothing! Here’s hoping it clears up quickly xx

We just got through this. Baby was congested for 5 whole weeks. In the last week I used a humidifier in the room all night and we finally got some sleep, keeping the air moist helps 😊 x

Yep having this issue at the mo! My LG has now picked up a cold from her big brothet 🫠🫠

Thanks for your replies, nice to know we're not alone but hope your babies feel better and we can all get some sleep. Going to buy a humidifier today to see how that helps 🙏 a midwife also suggested using breast milk in their nose to loosen mucus so can alternate between that and saline drops
