Are you taking iron tablets? Ferrous sulphate always gives me terrible constipation so I take ferrous fumarate instead
I've suffered with this from around 22w to now, still not as regular, drink plenty of fluids, I've just got some baby fruit sachets of prunes as drinking prune juice wasn't working as well, try elevated legs on the toilet too, contact GP they can prescribed lactulose too. It's awful mine has eased slightly but still not as regular as normal xx
@Emma I am - I’ll speak to midwife about changing!
Constipation during pregnancy is very common. Perhaps ask your doctor for a lose dosage of magrocol to take daily which will help you to stay regular rather than getting constipated often. Then you can wean yourself off it after baby is here ? Has worked for me x x
I had this. My midwife recommended lactose - you can buy it over the counter and take up to 30 mil per day. It helped a lot. Especially if you’re taking iron tablets. You’ll get through it mama! X
Try eating two kiwi fruits a day, with the skin on and drink plenty of water. The kiwis made a massive difference for me
Constipation is the worst 😭 I felt so tired after using the loo having to strain. Eating prunes after dinner / before going to bed has helped a lot. Just try to avoid straining and let the prunes do their work. I have about 5-6. It’s gotten better, so sometimes manage to go every two days. I’m hoping it’ll improve more. Hope you feel better soon and you manage to find some relief x
Try eating figs and prunes prune juice too and try fibro gel x
