Reluctant Potty Trainee

I need help. My son is super reluctant in potty training, including tantrums when it is time to sit. I feel like we’ve tried every approach, all to no avail. He is three and is starting preschool in the fall. Any suggestions to those who have also had tricky toddlers?

No advice but here to say we are in the same situation, peace and perseverance for the days and months to come 🩵✨

Have you tried offering a reward for when they’re closer do sit? I offered candy. The first day I let both kids be naked so they can feel when they pee. My first born hated it so we just put underwear on. I started seeing when they were either peeing or about to pee and ran them to the toilet and let them finish. My son learned pretty quickly. My daughter I started 3 weeks ago and she’s been doing pretty well but occasionally has been peeing in her underwear. She wears pull ups to sleep/naps and if we go out. You have to be prepared for potty training mentally. Bc it’s very very stressful. You have to dedicate days for success and once you start don’t stop bc it’ll make you start all over. Rewards really helped. Small tiny improvements each day is a win so remember that too.

My son did not want to potty train at all. We basically just let him be bottomless any time we were home. I would put him on the potty when he looked like he had to go, if he got upset or wanted up ide let him get up. Once he realized when he had to pee we started puttin pj pants on him. We could not use pull ups or undies he just treated them like a diaper. We did do chocolate chips for sitting on the potty/ going potty. He now goes potty at his school and home, but still need reminding when hes showing signs of having to go. He also still cant wear undies, we just put him in pants.
