Currently we still let our toddler have it only for nap and bedtime. We want to get him off it too but prioritizing potty training soon. I've heard it's best to only have 1 major life change at once if you can help it. So thats where we are at with it

I just completed paci weaning with my 20 month old yesterday. It took 7 very long emotional days. It wasn’t only stressful for her, but also everyone in the house. What we did was got rid of all pacifiers in the house and left her with one, once she bit off the tip completely she didn’t want it anymore, but she was still screaming and crying for a new one. During the daytime we kept her very busy so she was completely tired for bedtime and at bedtime we would play nursery rhymes and rock her to sleep and as the days went on she would ask for the paci less, until she wouldn’t ask for it at all and find other ways to soothe herself. Good Luck

My daughter is 20 months and she still uses her pacifier for naps and bed time. She eventually spits it out in her sleep. But if she doesn’t have it she won’t go to bed. Screaming and crying with so much tears. Right now her dentist said it’s fine as it’s not affecting her teeth since it’s just a few hours in a 24 hour day

We tried and I’ll be honest the tantrums were hours long. The pediatrician said he wasn’t concerned about the binky usage and since it was obvious our son was needing it for regulation that it wasn’t the time to wean. He said make sure he always has access to it. His behaviors and mood got so much better!

We still use the paci
