Night feeds

My LG is turning 5 months week after next and she doesn’t usually burp when she has her night feeds as she always sleeps during the feed. Her position is mainly upright when feeding so the milk passes through and I hold her upright for some time before putting her down, sometimes only 10 minutes or even under otherwise for so long I wait she burps but she doesn’t - anyone else the same?

Yeah my little girl does the same, sometimes she farts and I think that helps. I always put her down and wait 10-20mintues untill I go to bed as I know she in a deep sleep then. If she needed burping or got wind as soon as I put her down she won’t settle x

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a 5 month old (my son is 16 months now) but I remember his pediatrician saying that it’s okay if babies don’t burp during night feedings, that babies often swallow less air while feeding at night! If baby seems comfortable after feeding you can let them sleep even if they won’t burp. Just keep an eye out for signs of discomfort. My son was an impossible burper lol so I rarely could get him to burp, especially during night feeds

@Abbey yeah she somtimes passes wind so that reassures me, and my one’s sleep is like her dad’s, they go into deep sleep straightaway haha, thank you xx

@Elena yess I remember then saying this too but just get worried still. She’s been good so far, thank you x

I haven't burped my baby for months.

my son just burps by himself now, i also haven’t burped mine for maybe like a month and a half/2 months.

Yup! I feed mine lying down and then cuddle for ten minutes to make sure she doesn't spit up. Now we have learnt a new skill her sleep is getting back to normal so I can get away with one maybe two feeds a night

My EBF baby doesn’t burp after a feed, lots of farts tho x
