Sleep shifts

My partner and I do sleep shifts with baby, I get 10-4 and he does 4-10 which works really well for us at the moment with her being 3 weeks but want to start looking at how I can start moving so we’re all sleeping together but I just find it really hard trying to sleep when she grunts and cries in her sleep as it always wakes me up. Just curious if anyone has done sleep shifts and when did they try and phase out the sleep shifts so you can all sleep together? Baby girl also does not last very long in her Moses on her own so any tips for this?

Don’t do shifts but I find the grunting etc hard to switch off from too! I’ve found a white noise machine and ear plugs do the trick! In regards to Moses basket, the only thing we have found to work is a Rockitt xx

We also do shifts as the noises keep us up too! I usually get 10-2 and my husband gets 2-6 and then he comes back so we do the last 2 or 3 hours together and spend some of the night in the same room!

We struggled with this for a good few weeks. We tried sleeping with the Moses sheet so it smelt like us, napping in the day in it so she got used to it and when we moved her into our next to me cot at 6 weeks we had a purflo sleep nest in there so it wasn’t too big for her as she kept waking without it but ultimately just needed to push through both being woken up as this was more important to our relationship than sleeping separately You’ve got this 🙌.

Yes - did it with my first and doing it with my second. I’m also awful at sleeping next to the noises so the only time I get decent sleep is when my husband is on shift. With my son we stopped it at 6/7 months when he went into his own room xx

Me and my partner take turns to sleep on the side of the bed with the babies, could you try that? I find that the noises don’t disturb me as much if I’m on the other side facing away xx

We’ve been doing the same for the last month (first time parents) and tbh i havent moved to the bedroom yet (sleeping in the living room as for some reason i feel more comfortable there). Looking forward to when we confident enough to all sleep in the same room (doubt it will be anytime soon).
