Lying on your side

Hey, I will be 18 weeks this coming week and been trying to teach myself to side sleep for the last few weeks and wow my hips hurt 🙈 but I know it’s worth it

When you lie on your side do you feel like you get this stretching feeling across your stomach? Like it’s pulling - I guess cause the baby is changing the gravity inside. I only have a small bump currently so image when she is bigger she will rest on my pillow better

Get yourself a pregnancy pillow if you haven't already!

Game changer! I had issues with my back and hips whilst laying on my side until I got it as you can stick it in between your knees too which keeps your hips in the right place and the back supports your back x

I’m 20 weeks and going through this, I’ve just ordered a pregnancy pillow. An F shaped Momcozy as it’s on offer at boots and has good reviews. Hope it works!

I got a pregnancy pillow from week 14 as I’m not a side sleeper so trying to reprogramme my body and sleep as early as possible, however even with the pregnancy pillow I am really struggling with the hip pain… what I would say is that the hip pain may also be your body just preparing for birth in 5 months, as your hips will widen and your body structure will shift. So whilst it’s painful, your body is doing all the right things xxx

Dates

I want to have a c section again with my second.

When/how long does it take to see a consultant and when will I roughly get my date?

My first baby, my waters broke at 39 weeks and I had him the next morning first thing, however I also then had to have a section anyway. But I do want to have one again with my second. I told my midwife this at 16 and 24 weeks, she said she sent a referral but no appointments have been made so a little worried. I’m 28weeks today

Dilation stories

So y'all I just went to the DR and found out I'm 1 cm dilated. Can hear some of y'all stories of when y'all gave birth? Was it quick after you found out you were 1cm dilated or did it take a few more weeks to give birth ?

Bleeding After Sex

I’m 12weeks postpartum and i noticed that anytime I have sex I get some bleeding after words, it’s mostly brown in colour and it’s not heavy enough to fill a pad. I mostly use pant liner. After some days it stops, then when I have sex again i start to bleed again. (Same Color, same amount of blood). Should I be worried? Is this normal ?

Tiger Balm?

I mentioned to my OB/GYN that I had been using tiger balm from time to time for lower back pain and she looked at the ingredients and said that she would recommend against it but honestly is anybody truly listening to that advice or are we still using tiger balm?

Spina bifida diagnosis

Hey all, we just had a private gender scan which revealed spina bifida on our baby, it was so scary as the staff didn’t know how to act. I’m now just waiting and waiting for my useless hospital to get someone in to confirm this and discuss further (we are in limbo, they won’t let us use another local hospital)
We are scared stiff and totally unaware about what the future holds… is there any advice for us/ any other uk sb mums who would like to connect?
