Anyone else?

With previous pregnancies, the midwife always came to my house for each appointment and it was nice and easy. Now I have to travel to the hospital every single time. Is this the same for everyone?

This is my first successful pregnancy so I have nothing to compare it to, however all of my appointments have been at the local doctors/hospital

All my appointments for first born and this one I’ve had to go to the midwife which is like a 30 min drive x

@Francesca same. The only time a midwife ever came to my house was the day after I got home from the hospital with my first. All other appointments before and after birth have been at some sort of health centre

@Bonnie I didn’t even get that I had to go up the hospital 🤣🤦‍♀️

I’ve never heard of anyone having home visits unless they’re with the homebirth midwives

@Leigh-Anne both my kids they were all home visits with the community midwives and I definitely didn’t do home births 😂 I thought this was the norm

@Charlie I think it’s the opposite 😂 your area must of had a good amount of midwives that they were able to do that, now there’s probably less and being at a clinic they can see more people

All my appointments have been in hospital/childrens centre. Never heard of them coming to us, would b handy

I've never had a midwife visit my home (except a private one I paid for). My first child was born during covid though. Every time I go to an appointment this time it's very rushed and they make a point of saying how busy they are and how hard it is to find appointment slots. Very strange as I thought the birth rate was going down. I guess they must be short of midwives these days!

All of my appointments are at my local GP surgery, community midwife is there every Wednesday. I don’t think it is affordable or viable for midwives to travel for each appointment anymore for routine appointments.
