My two month old was doing this. I finally had to start using our nighttime environment and routine to get her to sleep. For environment: black out curtains, sound machine, closed door. Routine: diaper change (in dark room), swaddle, pacifier, and then I rock her for a minute or two to get her drowsy and set her down. As soon as I set her down, I leave the room and she goes to sleep. It’s hard because I love contact naps but she just wasn’t getting enough sleep and I have things to do.
You're doing great 🫶🏼 being a mom is literally the hardest job in the world. I'm a second time mom and I can't tell you when it got easier (also all babies are so different) but IT DOES, then it will get hard again and easy again. You just get better at riding the waves 💙
Ok so my baby was like this week 6 and we figured out it was the bassinet. He loves it at night and sleeps independently then but during the day we put him down in his Bobby or lounger to sleep on the couch (supervised of course) I was getting burned out bc he’d be fast asleep on me but as soon as I’d go lay him down he’d wake up but for whatever reason putting him in anything but his bed during the day has changed my life! He now takes 2,3hr naps a day all in his boppy or lounger And I feel like it’s even attributed to him now sleeping 5hrs straight at night bc he associates the bassinet now with long sleeps only
@Alex how do you do a diaper change in a dark room? How do you know if you got all the poop 🤔🤔
@Alex has she always went to sleep drowsy? Or did you get her to do that? My baby has to be rocked/held for at least 15 minutes or she won't sleep.
@Ashley we bought a wipe warmer that has a light on it! It’s right next to the changing pad so that’s what we use. It’s not as light as having the overhead light on.
My baby does not let me put him down much at all during the day. It’s so hard because I have 3 other kids and during nap time I would love to be able to get some stuff done.
I do repeat night time routine and it doesn’t work. I’m trying to figure out where I could place him to sleep besides his bassinet.
Omg yes this is how it is with my 2.5 month old - I’ve been trying to put him in the bassinet more for naps but he will wake up after like 20 min or something when he will sleep on me for an hour or two. I think it’s pretty normal when they are still so small but I get it cause I’m also exhausted!
