Night sleep

I know babies typically dont sleep through the night but my 5 month old went from waking up once to waking up 7-8 times. We try feeding him, changing him, checking temperature in the room, etc. Wondering if theres anything else we can do or if this is just the 6 mo regression early and we just wait it out like the 4 mo one. He’ll be 6 mo next week

He takes 3-4 naps the last one being about 30 min and goes to bed around 9:30-10:30 ish depending on how many naps he took

Maybe teething??

Sounds like teething! Mine used to do that I got these all natural teething tablets and he sleeps much better now! Maybe try those and see if it helps??

I feel like we’re in the same boat. I can tell my lo is teething bc he’s rubbing his jaw on both sides. He just seems to need extra comfort.

Do you have a sound machine?? That’s been helpful for me

Oh god. My son is the exact same age, has the same naps, sleeps at the same time and wakes up the same amount of times right now 😭 his two bottom teeth popped out but I really don’t think it’s that. I’m convinced it’s another sleep regression. Riding it out at this point. Haven’t sleep trained him yet and probably won’t do it until he’s a bit older. I feel like I don’t have the heart not to sooth him when he wakes up and cries.

My son is going through the same thing right now! Following to see if anything works for you 😅

He might be teething, my son went from 8pm-7am to waking up every hour. A little fever a lot of drooling etc… gave him Tylenol and he went back to sleeping through the night. He will typically spike a small fever later in the day.

As a postpartum doula who was mentored by a sleep consultant of 10+ years, I would change the schedule around. 8:30-9:30 for a 5 month old is a late bedtime. Bedtime should be around 7/7:30 at the latest. Last nap shouldn’t be after 5pm & no naps longer than 120 mins (2hours)
My son is 5.5 months old & we follow a schedule and have since he was 6 weeks, and so far have hit no regressions. He sleeps 7-7, no wake ups. I would also suggest moving to 3 naps & then moving to 2 naps. 6 months is usually when you change to 2-3-4 schedule.
What time is wake up?

i tried a 7 PM bedtime for him once and it didnt go well. maybe hes ready for that now i dont know. hes on a routine because his sleep changes often so we do the same thing every day and night. i follow wake windows too. he wakes up around 7:30/8 AM. 3 naps just isnt enough for him right now. i can try the 7-7:30 bedtime for him and see how that works, thank you

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
