Nausea and Feeding

I can’t find any information on google and wondering if anyone can help me! Around about the 3-5 week mark, i would often feel nauseous while feeding especially if i went to eat. This seemed to be normal for early days and it went away. I am now 16 weeks post partum and feeling sick during most feeds, it seems to happen the instant i latch and stops about a minute after the feed is done. I don’t think it’s related to let down as i can feel my boobs fill sometimes when not feeding and don’t get the same sickness. I often need to eat/drink while feeding as it’s the best chance i get to sit down so this is a horrible feeling! I don’t feel like i have the possibility of being sick, just very nauseous particularly at the top of my throat. Does anyone know what could be the reason??

Following because I’m in the same situation.. I have heard it can be caused by the hormones that are released when feeding but I’m not sure!!

I had this. It was because (iron) Ferritin was too low and not eating /drinking enough.

@Amanda wss your ferritin levels low during your pregnancy? Did you get prescribed ferrous sulphate? And did you continue taking them after birth? I got prescribed them and stopped after birth, so many that could be why for me🤨

@Jessica I had it low the whole pregnancy, yes. It dropped 2 points after birth so the nutrition route wasn't working i had to supplement. I ultimately lost my milk supply due to not eating / drinking enough so I stopped taking them but I plan to take them again for next pregnancy.

i had low iron in pregnancy and honestly i’m rubbish at remembering to drink so that could be it for me🫠

@Jessica it’s so horrible isn’t it!☹️
