We were referred to fetal medicine after a growth scan at 31 weeks. Essentially, the first appointment they want to confirm what they found at your growth scan so the consultant will retake all of the measurements to see if they match (or have gone up/down). The consultant will also likely ask about your family history - eg how big you were born, history of medical conditions etc. They will then make a plan for more scans (I was told a stand alone scan means very little and they need a series to compare) and arrange for any blood tests they need especially if they want to assess placental function etc. Best of luck lovey x
thank you ladies! x
My baby was measuring 97th but his femur was measuring small, both dad and I are small framed/petite.. to my shock, he was however in the 2nd centile when he was born. The scan normally consists of a consultant taking measurements, nothing to worry about. They may consider genetics ect like it was in my case. Good luck x
