I’m sorry, a 100? 😂 that would be possible if I have nothing else to do in my life then collecting colostrum. Even then…. My first I haven’t done it, and I regret as we had trouble latching, but this time I am aiming to have around 10-15 syringes in the freezer in case it happens again. But also I’m not overly concerned as you can still express after giving birth and give it to your baby straight away (if baby is struggling with a latch). I have a toddler and I don’t always have time or a will to squeeze my boobs so I’m doing what I can 😂 so far I’ve got 5 syringes collected over few days and I’m happy
I've done zero and will not be even attempting to collect. I didn't with my other two and we breastfed for 10 months a piece. I just think it's extra unnecessary pressure on us. Each to their own though...
Don’t worry about numbers, do what you can ☺️. It can be really helpful even if you only get a few! I found watching lots of videos to find the technique that works helped me as you don’t want to end up with sore nips! I found making sure i was super warm and a good few cm’s away from the nipple really helped and when i stopped bathing immediately before i was more relaxed as getting running the bath to the right temp, moving around and getting in and out is not comfortable anymore 🤣. Good luck and don’t stress if it doesn’t come its very tricky and time consuming!
100 😂
What would you even do with 100! They only last 6 months?
I’m just collecting as much as I can and when I can! Anything is better than nothing in my opinion.
@Nishat honestly no idea, she just laughed when I questioned it saying she was good at it haha
Ugh what an overachiever 🙄😂 Honestly I’m just having a go as and when I want to, usually in the evening after a warm bath / shower if I feel like it I will collect some. In the last 5 days I’ve done 4 attempts on different days and I’ve gone from 0.3 to a full syringe which I was really proud of! Don’t put any pressure on yourself, I know people who didn’t have any joy collecting colostrum and they had no issues post birth. Give it a try & see how you go ☺️
