Do you have to cut out foods from your diet if breastfeeding!?? Help doctors all tell me different

I have seen a peaditrician and got my baby allergy tested and only same back positive for allergic to cows milk, (feel like she’s allergic to more things). Basically the doctor said I have to consume a lot of dairy for it to even reach my baby, he didn’t advice me to stop what I’m eating and also said there’s no correlation between food/encironmental factors and eczema. He also told me to try the milk ladder so my babys intolerance to milk doesn’t get bad when she gets older and dies down as the years go on by giving her dairy. I’m so confused, every single person has said as soon as they stopped dairy they see a difference to their babies skin. Someone help please because even these doctors are not helping. Have you guys completely cut out certain things and does it make a difference?? If so, how long till you have cut out certain foods till you saw a difference to babies skin because I believe I tried for 3 weeks with no dairy and she was still flaring up??

I had to cut out dairy for 6 weeks when breastfeeding and saw a huge difference. It takes 6 weeks to clear their system. Thats how i knew it was cows milk. Allergy testing confirmed it was cows milk after. Daughter is now 4 and can have some dairy.

And After the 6 weeks i continued to be dairy free until i stopped breastfeeding at age 2

I cut out dairy and limited caffeine

I had to cut out dairy and caffeine. Those were the two things that made my son cranky and gassy. But what’s interesting is I have a lot of food allergies mostly the top allergens I’m allergic to. My mom breastfed me and I would scream all night doctors would say I had colic. But I honestly think from my experience if she cut out what I was allergic to I wouldn’t have been so gassy lol

Get a different doctor! The protein which is the problem with CMPA absolutely passes through breastmilk and you would need to cut dairy out yourself to continue breastfeeding unless their allergy is very mild. There also definitely is a correlation between food, environmental factors and eczema. My baby is allergic to cow's milk and eggs and I cut both out of my diet, his symptoms resolved. He does still have eczema but that's because it's triggered by environmental factors for him. It takes 6-8 weeks of cutting out the foods to see a difference as their gut is inflamed from all the exposure and takes that long to heal.

@Rema same! I learned in adulthood I have dairy and gluten intolerances. She changed my formula 6 times per the doctors recommendation and it was the cow’s milk protein

I wish I cut it out sooner, the drs told me it wasn’t an allergy when I really felt it was, saw huge improvements since cutting out!x

Thank you everyone, appreciate all the responses. I’ve definitely taken what you all have said in, I’m so done with doctors the so called “professionals” as mum’s we know best and I knew the doctor had no clue about what he was talking about. Definitely will be going dairy free. Thank you all

@Sarah does the intolerance go away? I’m confused at how all doctors say they will grow out of it, so if they’re allergic now, is it just something they will grow out of and eventually have dairy, or the allergy is still there but can only have dairy in foods?
