Identifying Alphabets

Does your 2yr old recognize alphabets? If yes, how many? My little girl is 25 months old and I was curious to know if it is too early for her to start recognizing.

My daughter is 26 months old. She knows how to say the alphabet with some help from me sometimes. She sometimes skips letters like L, M and N but she recognizes all the letters. We also sing the alphabet when we wash hands. We started teaching her when she was about 18 months old. Now she can kind of spell out capital letters. We are working on the lowercase letters now. It takes time and patience.

My daughter knows the whole alphabet in order verbally but can only recognize by sight a few letters- A,D, F, E, and W. I’m working on the rest with her

yes, my daughter knows them .. maybe around 1.5 she could recognize them out of order (both uppercase and lowercase) & knew her shapes, colors & numbers up until 10

Mine has like 4 letters down

It’s not to early for your child to learn anything

I feel bad. My son doesn’t know his letters. He loves to read with me and by himself but I haven’t been pushing it …

@Sabrina my stepson didn't learn them until 4. My 2 year old only learns them because he's interested in them. He also has a leapfrog with magnet letters. Don't sweat it if yours isn't interested yet!

@Peytra thank you! I feel like my son is developmentally where he should be but then sometimes I’m like uhhhh. lol. He’s recently gotten into separating by colors and matching his animals together. I figure when he’s ready he’ll want to do it or try.

@Sabrina my friends daughter is a month younger than my son and talks in 5-6 word sentences and knows every color and animal and sound. My son didn't walk until 18 months and just started talking more and learned his name. They're all so different and it's hard not to compare kids

My daughter knew the alphabet and could identify all the letters before before 24 months.

Mine knows the entire thing but not the correct order
