Breastfeeding / increase milk supply

Hi mamas Sooo, 3 weeks old babygirl finally decided to latch on the breast. Yayyy… Until now she has taken bottles (breastmilk & formula). I was having a very stressful situation, and the milk started to decrease. But I still have some. Any suggestions how to increase milk supply please (if it’s not too late. First time mom) 🙏🏼🩷

Congrats!! You are giving me hope bc rn my 2 week old son will not latch either!! Drink mother’s milk tea and pump every 2-3 hours that’s what I’ve been doing for milk increase!

@Chloe oh please be strong 💪🏼 I was crying almost everytime I was trying to breastfeed her. She only cry and cry and scream until I couldn’t handle it anymore and gave her the bottle. These last days I even stopped to pump (which I regret it) I gave up, I thought “that’s it”… until one day she just decided to take my breast 🥹 so if you want to breastfeed just don’t loose hope, and keep pomping if you don’t want to lose it. A friend of mine told me that her son started to latch at 2 month old. So there’s always hope.

Proud of you all for not giving up! To increase my supply the LC recommended me to breastfeeding then pump each time. You also need alot of nutrients dense food... don't snack on empty calories. Also plz take care of your nips! Mine are sore shell. Put lanolin creme before and after. Compress your breast while baby is sucking, so that the "hindmilk" which is fattier and more filling comes out. 10-15 mins on each breast. Track it using an app like huckleberry. Supplements if you have to but keep pumping. Ask partner for help

@Rasha thanks a lot 🩷

To increase mu supply I’m breastfeeding and pumping after for about 10 - 15 minutes. This is what my lactation consultant recommended me at least until all my milk comes in.

Wow I really needed this!! Literally the same experience for me, I just kinda gave up bc I hate frustrating him and seeing him cry and struggle only to not latch and also I won’t know how much he’s getting if he breastfeeds. We had a scare with his weight dropping before we swapped to bottle feeding since he wouldn’t latch, so I’m honestly scared of breastfeeding now but at the same time I don’t want to give up on it quite yet. I also thought it maybe I’m too late since he’s two weeks now and I felt like I ruined it for him forever but maybe I’ll start trying again!! Thank you so much!!
