My twins were born on the 16th. We have given them taste the last week and half. We did sweet potatoes first for four days, the squash for four days. They have also chewed on a chicken bone haha. Only because they are teething. Also, celery and green onion. We will do another veggie next, probably peas. I have heard that if you start with fruits, it can be harder to get them to try veggies. We will do baby led feeding once they turn 6mos.
At 4 months. I started with peas. I’ll be trying to baby led weaning also at 6 months. I tried with strawberries and she just wasn’t able to eat it herself so ended up having to hold it for her so I’m gonna try again
We've had our son try baby rice and a couple baby foods (pear/mango kale something or other). His pediatrician told us he could start with those at his 4 month appointment
We have been tasting since 4.5 months. So I will let him suck on a gherkin for example or piece of cucumber. I have those rubber feeders with the holes in the can suck like a dummy. He can hold that up to his own mouth now so put some blueberries in it yesterday. He's now 5 months so will begin some tiny amounts of puree for tasting (just next step up from sucking) x
Not yet because my doctor hasn’t given us the OK but she’s definitely showing interest in food
Mine will be 6 months next week, we're starting baby led weaning along with purees this week 💜 (unless I get too nervous about the choking!) Then might stick to purees for a bit
We did - we started with avocado & Kendamil oatmeal. We are planning on doing BLW & avoid purees all together to skip the transition period and hopefully avoid a picky eater 😅
We started giving her puree at 5 months. She really likes peas, apples and sweet potatoes.
We officially started 2 weeks ago. But we gave him cereal for the first time at 5 months. He wasn’t really interested so we waited a week then tried again. He spit it all up. Waited another week then tried some peas and he loved it ! He’s had carrots and squash also . We wanted to start with veggies.
We started with oatmeal, banana, sweet potatoes, avocado, and now carrots. I say take your cues from your baby and if your ped says it’s ok. We got the ok at 5 months.
4 months
If you have. How did you start? Some people are telling me to wait
