Night waking

Our daughter will be turning one this coming week and in the last month or so (since going down to one nap a day) we have a 50% chance she will wake up in the night. When she does it’s a good hour before she goes back to sleep and we can put her down without her waking. I’ve tried to put her back to two naps but she won’t do it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could change it to make it work again? Currently we try to get her to nap for two hours after lunch so usually around half 12 til half 2. Prior to this she has 90% slept through the night apart from when teething and I’m now back at work so we are becoming very tired and drained from it.

We are having the exact same issue. Not sure what it is! Xx

@Kim I’ve got as far as figuring out that when she wakes up in the night she generally sleeps until around 7:30am but when she sleeps through she’s usually stood up wanting to get up by 6:45am but still no clue what to change up on her routine. Problem is now they have so many meal times etc it’s hard to move everything to suit the nap x

We have this too, and we found that it's nothing to do with day sleep but our LG is going through leap 8. A few days before her first birthday and the 2 weeks after her whole mood has changed and up multiple times at night. We are slowly coming out of it now and the night time sleep is getting better. So it might be the 12 month regression instead of her day time sleep

My LO is 1 on Wednesday I am having the same problem. Usually she would go down between 7-8 but now she Doesn’t drift off after 9/10. Sometimes she wakes through the night wanting to play for an hour or so. Her behaviour is changing also she keeps throwing her dinner on the floor etc. I am worried she is isn’t eating enough. She had a good weight on her for her age. Then I think is she waking as she isn’t eating enough? Xx

Can you try to go back to two naps? I moved to one nap for a while, and then we would always get a night wake up, whereas she sleeps through if she had two naps. We're back to two naps now, so I think it was maybe just a blip that seemed like she wanted one nap for a bit. My first daughter didn't drop to one nap until at least 16 months (can't remember exactly).

It sounds like split nights so could be due to the new routine or her sleep needs have changed

How many hours does she do overnight (with or without wakes)?
