Chamomile tea on a pad and then put them in a fridge to use after you have been helps soothe it afterwards x
I'm still waiting for my baby, so haven't used it myself, but my friend swears by Spritz for Bits after her stitches.
Reusable perineal ice packs, peri bottle or even a water bottle with a pop top and leaning forward when you pee. Just had my 3rd baby - episiotomy with my first, tears and grazes with my second and only a small tear this time around, these things have saved my vag more times than I can count. Also I’d start taking stool softeners now if you aren’t already because that first post partum poop is something else…
Defo spritz for bits. I had to be cut and had second degree also. Spritz has been a game changer
Epsom salt sitz baths, fill up the bath with a few inches of water and a few handfuls of Epsom salts sit in it twice a day for 10 mins then air dry on a towel. I’ve had an episiotomy last birth and this one a second degree tear and they really help speed up healing. The consultant and midwives recommend 😊
Wipe with wet wipes too not toilet paper eek! And deffo grab a stool softener as others have said x
Take a jug of warm water with you to the loo and pour it over yourself as you go, I didn’t want to use any spritz stuff after episiotomy last time in case it irritated anything but the water was lovely! Peri bottle also meant to be great I’m trying that this time round but jug was just as good
Drink lots of water so your urine is more diluted (less acidic/salty)
Drink loads of water.
I have been using a flannel - running it under the hot tap and holding it there whilst I pee and it's really helped 🥰
something that helped me was holding my privates with a flannel whilst I peed, don’t know why it helped but it did! Also helped when I finally had the courage to poop 😭
A peri bottle is a life saver!
