Axkid Movekid could work for both. Rear faces til 36kg and is suitable for about 7 months plus.

thank you . When I’m accepted I’ll leave the other group

whatever the cost x

For longevity and safety I’d go for 2 Axkid movekids.

You would get away with the minikid 2 for eldest if you wanted to spend slightly less overall.

There isn’t a rear facing and forward facing seat that will accommodate eldest height and weight for longer than an year ish, other than the be safe beyond 360 but it’s around £600+ xx

Can anyone narrow them down. This is the problem; there’s so many now I don’t know which to choose from x

Also I know everyone is super set on continuing RF till 7 but my goal was to RF until 4, so can anyone provide some FF options as well or that not a thing in this group? Thanks

Is there a reason you want to FF at 4? Most ERF seats will RF until 105cm (isofix&spin) or 125cm anyway, so it would be your decision when you take them out of that but children generally aren’t ready for high backed boosters until at least 5 year old. To narrow them down I would recommend first finding your local retailer and have a look what they have available as they won’t have every seat. Some have recline options, some are more upright, some have manual tethers and some have automatic ones. They’re all slightly different on space too, I recently changed from a britax max safe pro to an axkid movekid to have some more legroom myself in the driving seat. You can book an in person appointment with your local retailers and trial some seats in your car, see what’s within your price range too, if you’d like to say what area you’re in I could have a look what retailer is near you x

There isn’t any ff harnesses seats that would last longer than 6 months to a year so it seems like you’d be buying a seat that would be unusable this time next year to then have to buy another seat.
The only one that can do both ff and rf is the one I listed xx

Avatar

hey sorry I’m confused by this. Isn’t there car seat that is FF that last till 7?

Avatar

it’s just the choice we made. RF till 4 is still great, but the ERF tethers are a problems for us especially between our car and grandparents car. Isn’t there seats like joie stages etc that can be FF at 4 onwards?

Avatar

No not 7 years old as car seats and weight and height based, the harness will be outgrown soon due to your daughter’s height and weight, they have 105cm and 18kg limits.
Except the be safe beyond which is isofix, 125cm and 22/23kg limits.

You could get a Joie stages but it will be outgrown within the year more than likely and it isn’t as safe to FF with a harness x

Injury at school

My poor boy got injured at school today. Face first on concrete. School handled it well. One of the staff went to the ER with him until we got there. Has a huge knot on his forehead and face swollen and scratched and bloody. Poor boy

Leaky nappy advice

We use mamia nappies and have had no issue until now. We are using size 3 but she is leaking through them every night as she sleeps through the night. We’ve tried 4+ for night but they are still too big. Does anyone have any advice or any other brand that might hold more in a size 3?

Circumcision question

So my son got circumcised before leaving the hospital he’s 3 days old and they told me the day after leaving to take it off which is today and just add a lot of Vaseline to the area to help it and when we took him to his pediatrician he told us to just keep adding Vaseline on top of the gauze and it’ll fall off on its own but now I’m worried that it’ll get stuck to his skin if it sits to long. What do you feel I should do

Ms Rachel ??

How many of you are putting ms Rachel on??? I’ve just introduced it to my 8 month old and it’s like sorcery. I feel so guilty putting it on because LO don’t take his eyes off the screen, but it’s the only way I’m getting 20/30 minutes during Velcro baby stage. I’ll put it on twice a day for up to 30 mins at a time, the rest of the time we’re out the house, playing with toys or he’s with me doing jobs around the house. Should I even feel guilty?😩

Thoughts on this pram?

I’m 18 weeks pregnant and thinking of prams to get my baby. I saw this on Amazon and it seems affordable, plus the reviews are very positive about the quality of the product. Are there any mamas in the group that got this specific model? If so, how did you find it?

TBH

To be honest- I’m starting to hate that my husband gets to sleep peacefully , getting virtually uninterrupted sleep, while I’m being woken up every other moment by our 5 month old 🙃 I’m so so tired, my body hurts, and I have a little cold that won’t go away. My baby sleeps next to me and feeds on demand (it’s my fault, I know). I tried to regulate him without the boob, tonight, and he started crying. My husband tried to soothe him for less than a minute, but I took him back when I saw my husband was getting irritated by him crying. I ended up feeding him until he was mostly asleep, now he’s sleeping on my chest. I’m awake, I have to use the bathroom, and forgot to take my contacts out, and put nursing pads in, but I’m stuck. Meanwhile, my husband went back to sleep immediately 😮‍💨😤 how do people do this long term? 😩
