@Jenna that’s where I’m at! I know it’s not “good” for him. But it feels better than letting him scream while I’m in the shower or just not taking a shower to keep him calm. If his Dad is home then he has the baby and I don’t have to do it, but like… I have to shower!
@Brianna I've been there! My husband (and the boys dad) works unpredictable hours. There have been many days where he doesn't even get to see them. On days like that, I do what is needed to get things done and to not go crazy. In an effort to not to screen time, I went like 4 days without a shower. I was miserable the entire time. It wasn't worth it!
I have the tv on most the time in the background as baby is only 3 months old. This is so when he does pay attention to it i can distract him so as he gets older he doesn’t want to look at it all the time 😂 However, we love a bit of dancing fruit so I can get ready! 😂 I don’t personally use it so I can shower, I just bring him with me and stick him on a play mat and he’s happy! However I appreciate not everyone enjoys that. So you do what works for you! Yes, we all know it’s harmful, but these experts aren’t the ones actually living it 😂 So 10-15 minutes screen time while you shower? In my eyes, it’s absolutely fine! I do the same so I can do my hair and get clothes on!
I have a playlist of books being read aloud that I play when he wants to watch something along with some educational games and apps. He also is doing the hooked on phonics app. I started off with a bunch of screen time and then restricted his access to things and set time limits. He is now at a point where especially when in his imaginative play where he will refuse it and would rather play. He also has a toniebox he he prefers now as I can take the things he likes to watch and put them on a creative tonie for him to listen to while he plays.
TVs on all day not necessarily always baby tv but always on.
We do no screens until 2years old. Then limited screen time after the 2nd birthday.
@Anna I’m impressed! I would love to be able to do that
We also limit tv time it’s not easy but I wouldn’t want it any different
My son is 2.5 its on all the time for background noise. He goes back and forth between playroom,tv, reading books arts and crafts
We don’t do screen time in our house. Not sure how old your Bub is but I just shower when my little one (almost 1) is sleeping, or just put him on the bath room floor with some toys. My older one (almost 3) just plays with toys while I shower, or he comes in with me. I think because TV has never really been an option for my 3 year old, he’s very good at just playing by himself without thinking he needs it
I plan on using it sparingly, but you gotta do what you gotta do to stay sane ot cook dinner lol
Depends on the day. I try to limit screen time to maybe 2 hours most days. Some days we watch none at all. Today I am sick so it’s a free for all.
@Denise haha fair enough
Mu sin only sleeps when something is playing mostly supernatrual or when my husband us watching family guy I try to stick ti more educational stuff that I grew up on for his actual screen Time like animal planet

I try to limit it when I can but sometimes it’s hard, like when I’m out and about eating at restaurants etc, so sometimes I have to resort into it. I just put it on when I really have to.
Not for me but everybody should do what works for them.
I never ever put my baby next to a screen, but Iike how would babies even watch it when they don't even sit 🥴. Rockers, swings and such are for 6 months and up. We should NOT even let babies sleep on the carseats, always a flat surface bc they don't have the ability to expand their lungs as bigger kids do, nor to stretch out or turn their necks quickly if they need to spit. Hope it helps! You can buy helium ballons for him to look at, or a mobile while on the crib, or a cute play gym 🏋️♂️
@Yessi Naomi bouncers.. that’s how they watch it for 15 mins at a time while mum has to do things..
The TV pretty much stays on. They will stop and watch it every once in a while but for the most part it's just for background noise. I usually have it on nursery rhymes or a kids movie. We tend to go back and forth from Cars to Wall•e. We've watched those so many times I can quote every word lol My kids recently turned 1 and 3, just for reference. We all know a ton of screen time isn't great for anyone, but let's be honest for a minute, you do what you need to do in order to maintain your own sanity.
