It’s big in comparison, but ultrasounds deviate up to 15% in the final weeks leading up to birth, because baby is so twisted up in there, heels over their head, etc. Plus, for birth, the two factors Docs are most interested in (I recall from my birth, though I’m not a doctor), is head circumference (since head comes out first), and belly circumference (of baby) only if it’s bigger than the head.

My baby was measuring in 80th percentile in 37th week, at birth baby measured 3.15kg. So don’t worry about it much. I was diagnosed with GD managed with nighttime insulin. I had to keep my blood sugar levels under control. As long as your Dr is confident no reason to worry. So ask all the questions to your OBGYN if you still have doubts

If you have the option of getting an US closer to your due date, I’d highly recommend that route. My friend just delivered a baby with a 99.9 percentile in length and 98 percentile head circumference that ended in an emergency c section. It’s odd that the doctors didn’t flag it earlier based on her US. I’d say please ask your doctor again and again. Good luck! :)

Wow reading these number freak me out. My baby was in the 29th percentile.
