Baby has been fussy when time to eat

Lately, when it’s time for him to drink his milk, he will drink it and then start crying and spitting it up like he’s choking. It’s become hard to feed him now. Has anyone ever experienced this or experiencing this right now? What could it be?

My oldest went through something like this. Turns out she had horrible acid reflux. I would try giving him some gripe water. Worked wonders for her

We’ve been going through a pretty extreme version of this. To the point where my baby basically wouldn’t eat if we tried and feed her while she was awake. Would say you should definitely seek out a feeding therapist to start off. They’ll be able to help you know if it’s a physical issue with how they’re drink or a mental thing. With us it’s both, so we made changes to the bottle and formula thickness, and also have been doing the program from Your Baby’s Bottle Feeding Aversion by Rowena Bennett.

Could this happen later on because he’s already four months, and he wasn’t like this before.

Apparently around 4 months is when they lose their natural sucking reflex, so it’s pretty common to happen around then. Or at least that’s what we were told.

My baby did this once and we realized we accidentally grabbed the wrong nipple. We used the next one up instead of the current one he likes. Took awhile to realize 😅

@Belle this is happening with my baby too. Found out it was due to fast flow. He gets really frustrated with certain bottle nipples and with the one breast lol

So he has been good for the past two days now. I wonder if he was just having a bad day maybe. But I appreciate everyone’s advice. ❤️
