Hospital bag as a first time mumma

Hi ladies, I’m starting to get my list together for my hospital bag… I’ve seen that it’s a good idea to take stool softeners with, but have no idea which is best 🤦🏼‍♀️any recommendations? Also any tips on essentials to pack would be so appreciated ❤️

When I had my c section they gave me lactulose while I was still admitted and I’m pretty sure you can buy it over the counter but honestly I’d wait and see if you feel like you need it, you could always ask a dr to prescribe something for you before you’re discharged xx

Disposable adult diapers, are way more comfortable, compared to the mesh underwear, with the ginormous pads.

Ice pack sani towel ,adult nappys ,snacks gd luck

It took me DAYS to pluck up the courage to even try. I was at home both times previously before I attempted it so not sure it’s a hospital bag essential unless you’re going to have to stay in for any amount of time for any reason? But again, not something I used. Just go back to that good old birthing breathing 👌 In terms of essentials - lucozade, a handheld fan, hair ties (if you’ve got long hair), book/magazine, phone charger, maternity pads, clothes and nappies for baby and comfy loungewear/underwear. Honestly - minus your toiletries (toothbrush, shower gel etc) I think you could get by with just those few things. But there’s loads of lists on Google.
