Toddler sleep horrific!!! Baby due anytime

I don’t know if it’s the 18 month regression, teething or in the impending arrival of a sibling and he can sense something is about to change but my sons sleep has been the worst it’s ever been (he has never been a good sleeper). He’s not only waking up multiple times, it’s just taken me over an hour to get him back off. He refuses to be settled by his dad now and screams blue murder when he’s trying to cuddle and console him. I’m 38 weeks this week and honestly feel on the verge of a breakdown. No real point to the post I guess apart from am I the only one going through this?

Been going through this for a few weeks now ever since he was poorly constantly come in our bedroom in middle of night wanting to sleep with us which never was a thing we never co slept together. And some night just put him back to bed in his own room and he wakes back up when you’ve gone out about 10mins after and starts again newborn baby sleeps better then him wouldn’t mind but when we have bad nights with him if he slept longer in morning to make up for it but he doesn’t about 7am or before he’s up. Iv been totally knackered that some night we’ve just given in and let him sleep with us cause we just wouldn’t get any. Last night was first time he slept through in his own bed in about 4 weeks. So thought finally he’s over it. But nope here we are again I’m waiting for his to go back to sleep in his own room after feeding my youngest 😭😦😓

I just discovered this, that we actually have to sleep train them to get them to sleep through the night. Ours is 10 months and I'm 14 weeks, so we have time luckily. But apparently the longer you wait the harder it is. It should only be a few nights of crying though. Not looking forward to it.

We're going through this too. She's 14 months and I'm 36 weeks. There's definitely some teething happening but I think it's not the only issue. She seems to be changing all her sleep times on us by about 2 hours so our schedule is all messed up. I also think maybe she's having some nightmares. She seemed very scared when she woke up tonight. My partner took her on a walk around the apartment with lights on before she settled tonight. I'm hoping that it doesn't bother the baby when he arrives because he's been listening to it already for the last couple of weeks.

@Natasha I’m against sleep training so unfortunately this won’t be an option for us. I know lots of babies who are good sleepers who have never been sleep trained so you don’t “have to do it” glad you are getting better sleep though, it’s a killer without it.
