EBF baby and returning to work

I’m returning to work in an April and am so worried as my baby is ebf and is still having feeds every few hours. I tried to implement feeding every 3/4 hours to start a routine but he seems to need more than this. He’s not taken too well to weaning and is very active so if anything I feel he’s needing more milk. He doesn’t take a bottle and we’re trying to get him used to a cup but have only given water so far. I’m so worried about how I’m going to return to work when he’s still so dependent. He also gets himself very worked up at times and the boob is the only thing which resets him

My God sameee, I really don’t know what to do

Also back to work in April. She doesn’t take a bottle and honestly I’ve given up trying. So focussing on a sippy cup. She now takes little sips of water from it so that’s progress. I go back when she’s 9.5 months and by that point I’m hoping she’ll be eating solids well (they usually get better at eating by then) and will survive without milk whilst I’m at work. I’ll feed before work, feed after work and then at bedtime. She’ll probably feed lots in the night to make up for it for first couple of months until she gets used to it. With my first I sent her to her childminder with pumped milk but she hardly ever finished it. On the days I didn’t work she fed as normal. Your boobs will get used to it! The only thing I’m focusing on is sippy cup/solids, not feeding her to sleep for naps and I’ll probably do some sleep training so she goes down easily in her cot during the day. But basically from experience with my first it all works out and they very quickly adapt xx

Mine also doesn’t take a bottle! Just pushed my return to work back to May 😅 we’ve been giving water in the munchkin cups every meal time and have found she will drink milk from it as long as I’m not in the house. As soon as she hears me she will stop and want to breastfeed 😂

@Natasza can I ask how your not feeding to sleep? My LO needs to be fed to sleep for naps (cat naps 🙄) but will independently fall asleep at night. Still has a couple makeups to feed but straight back to sleep. Just struggling with naps. If I don't feed him, he screams the place down. I'll breast feed before and after nursery and provide pumped milk for at nursery. He'll happily drink water from his sippy cup and eating bitesize food and finger foods happily. Just need help with naps before he starts nursery in April 😩

@Lucy hi Lucy, look up sleep well with Hannah. This is who I’ve been following. Her technique is really gentle and through small steps you work your way up to leaving the room for sleep times. But I’m currently able to cuddle her to sleep because she co sleeps with me. Next steps will be to cot settle! X
