How to serve food

When giving baby finger food meals, do you offer one thing at a time or put it on one of those plates with the different compartments so it's offered all at once? When I tried offering it all at the same time, my baby ate the thing he liked the most and then just left everything else.

If I put a plate of finger food down in front of my girl she throws it everywhere 🤦🏼‍♀️ I literally have to put a mouthful down at the time. I was hoping I’m not the only one 😂

I've tried both, and as the same as you, she chooses one thing and doesn't eat anything else. So now I stagger it, I normally give the thing she'll want the least first, followed by whatever else. It tends to end up that she's got more than one thing on her tray because she won't have quite finished one before I give the other but I leave a gap so I know she'll have at least tried then other things ☺️

Some days are better than others. On some days he will pick one piece of food and not get another until he has finished and on other days he wants everything in his hands to squeeze. I try to give him his favourite things to eat in between others so that he gets the option to get familiar with other foods too.

I just put everything down at once and she eats what she wants to eat. She will ALWAYS eat fruit first if that's on the plate and then the veg. Basically she goes for the most colourful thing first.

I do a bit or some bits at a time on the high chair tray. A plate would have no chance of survival.

I stagger what is offered. Then load more on. I will offer fruit for pudding only after she is done with her dinner.

Lunchtimes tend to be finger food and I have started putting the plate down so she can pick… sometimes it all goes on the floor. Breakfast and dinner I give little bits in stages because it’s messy business!
