Baby fell of bed

Please looking for some reassurance 😫 My just turned 1year old fell from our bed when sleeping, he literally cried for 5 seconds till I picked him up and went straight back sleep. The way I feel I could cry! It’s never happened I’ve always not been fully asleep if he’s in our bed (light sleep) but I must of went into a deep sleep (very tired recently, 20weeks pregnant too) Has this happened to anyone else? Will he be okay? He’s got no marks or anything… what do I need to look out for?

Consider how far he fell and if he landed on carpet or hard wood. The main things to look for are nausea and if he’s inconsolable. When my little one fell off the bed he was only 6 months old, we took him to the ER to be safe but he was totally fine. I would call your pediatrician as well if you need more guidance. But trust yourself as his mom. If he seems off, get him checked out. If he seems his normal self, you’ll know. You’d be surprised how many people this happens too. If he’s going to sleep in your bed more, get a bed rail. It’ll make everyone feel better. Don’t beat yourself up ♥️

I bought a 0-12 bed that came with a side railing to switch to a toddler bed that I use on my bed on the side that he sleeps if you dont have one of those you can buy baby bed railing on amazon or fb marketplace

I suggest following safe bedsharing practices. A wonderful way is sidecar a crib! We do it and haven’t looked back. It gives you your own sleep space while also keeping bubba safe. You act as a body barrier. Listen to your momma instincts. When in doubt check it out. Happens all the time Especially off beds, changing stations etc!

Thank you ladies for the lovely comments, he’s absolutely fine I’ve brought two bed guards today for our bed for the times he does sleep with us but he always sleeps in his cot just the odd night or when he’s Ill would come in our bed&& yeah always thinking of the worse like brain damage or something lol but he’s fine xx
