Co sleeping

Hi; my baby is 5 weeks old today and I’ve gotten a lot of mixed advice on Co sleeping. I noticed a lot of you say in this group that you co sleep with your baby so this may be a silly question, but do you guys just put your baby on the bare mattress next to you or do you have a bassinet or something in the bed for the baby? I really want to attempt to co sleeping but I don’t know how to safely do it. Thank you. Xx

When had to sleep with my newborn, I would have my arm out and she would sleep in thecrook of my arm . I would keep the duvet and pillows away from her. I don’t do it anymore as I’ve managed to get in the crib, but I totally understand how sleep deprivation makes it a necessity and even if you want to. X

We do a mix of chestsleeping and cosleeping on the mattress 😊 he sleeps lightly dressed as he's against me but you can pop them in their own thin sleep sack but no swaddles. Can be controversial but one of the safe sleep 7 is breastfeeding, I wouldn't recommend if you're bottle feeding x

Cosleeping with your little one on the mattress next to you, at breast level. If you sleep in the C-curl around them, it keeps them from rolling too much, and means they won’t shimmy into your pillow or down towards your duvet. Check out the safe sleep 7 rules. Happycosleeper on Instagram or Facebook is an amazing resource for cosleeping information. I’d really recommend having a look at the page to get yourself feeling really confident with it. We love cosleeping, so always happy to answer any questions I can, if you need. Best of luck!

Towards the beginning my daughter slept in the crook of my arm also! She now sleeps in her next to me, until 6 and then comes into my bed at 6, again in the crook of my arm or I sleep in a c-curl around her so that she can’t shimmy around the bed, with no pillows and duvet x

Look up the lullaby trust to understand the safe sleep 7 x
