Hi, we went through the exact same and trialling for 6 weeks it was a waste and horrible. My baby suffered, and i, only to find out that goats milk was the solution. You know your baby best said a dietician at hospital you are with them day night we just see them for a few mins you know what is right and wrong. That's all i needed, and i changed without telling any gp or doctor, and it's been the best so far. Good luck x
We’ve been in a similar-ish position. My son had suspected CMPA around a month old - green mucousy poops, silent reflux, really gassy but otherwise no skin conditions. We saw a number of HVs and GPs and all gave different opinions as to whether it’s CMPA. He’s ebf so I went dairy free for 2 months but it didn’t make much difference so I went back to including dairy in my diet. He seemed ok the following months with random bouts of green mucousy poop and bad gas which would last a few days at a time. We’ve just started solids and I’m planning to introduce dairy slowly. We still don’t know for sure if he has CMPA and will only know once we introduce dairy to him
@Emily I’ve just had to stop giving him the pepti 1 because he was screaming in agony all last night and today and I’m not watching him go through that when he wasn’t like that on the hipp organic milk😩 I think I might just start weaning him soon and go through the different allergies then and sus it out that way, I wish they could just go something to check exactly what babies are allergic to😢
@Ansa I’ve just had to stop giving him the pepti 1 because he was screaming in agony all last night and today and I’m not watching him go through that when he wasn’t like that on the hipp organic milk😩 I think I might just start weaning him soon and go through the different allergies then and sus it out that way, I wish they could just go something to check exactly what babies are allergic to😢 I have been really contemplating trying a goats milk but I really don’t want to mess around with his belly too much, all together he’s had 14.5 oz of the aptamil pepti so I’m hoping it will just flush through his system quickly and he won’t have to be in too much pain! I gave him a bottle with his hipp organic one not long after the other ad he was hungry but wouldn’t take to the other and he demolished 3oz of that one which is more than he’s been taking of the other x
@Kay I’ve just had to stop giving him the pepti 1 because he was screaming in agony all last night and today and I’m not watching him go through that when he wasn’t like that on the hipp organic milk😩 I think I might just start weaning him soon and go through the different allergies then and sus it out that way, I wish they could just go something to check exactly what babies are allergic to😢 it’s so hard to tell isn’t it! I feel like an awful mum not knowing what is right or wrong for him but my guy is just telling me that this milk the dr gave me is definitely not right for him and I really don’t want to go through trailing so many different milks when he wasn’t starting to settle on the hipp one, it’s just his eczema started to flare up when they prescribed me a starter pack of creams which don’t seem to work
Pepti 1 still has cows milk it’s just really broken down you will need an amino acid formula x
I’m sorry you’re going through this. I understand how stressful it can be not knowing but as others have said, you know your baby best. I would personally go with my gut and what feels right for me and baby. Every baby is so different and not everything the doctor prescribes will be right for them. I can’t comment on the eczema but I hope it all goes well with the milk and that little bubba feels better soon! xx
Im the exact same, i dont think in my gut its cmpa but ive been doing diary free for one week, and we tried nutramigen last night and he cried in pain all last night - hes never done that on milk formula. we’ve seen no improvement yet. I think i might try goats milk as the perscribed formulas are awful!
@Brooke my baby is thriving finally on goats milk, so its worth a shot x
Hey! I’m wondering the same about my daughter. Now 7 months old. We’ve used goats milk and she’s been absolutely fine now and I’m reintroducing milk into both our diet slowly. Slowly mainly because regardless neither of us have had it for months!
