Have you tried prune purée?
Hi , my little boy has been the same since he was born he’s one too, he was given lactose, but last week I had him back at the doctors and he had chronic constipation to the point he was screaming while trying to poo I literally had to help him pass the poo, it was rock solid and looked like something that not even a adult would pass, they have give him sachets of movicol in pretty sure it’s called I’d say take him to the doctors and demand something to help him! Otherwise they will just fob you off again and again, please put your foot down with them x
I’ve not tried prunes yet but will absolutely be trying that - I’m gonna try give my doctor another call in the morning about it as well, thank you for the suggestions, honestly, I was just at a loss of what else to do to help him x
I had the same issue but it was when I changed from formula to cows milk. She was screaming in agony, it’s awful isn’t it! I also tried everything including prunes and nothing worked. Once I changed her back to Kendamil but the toddler one she was regular again x
get laxatives for kids that goes to bottom.. its not like you would give it every day .. i am sure if you ask in pharmacy they will give it to u ..
My son had similar episodes and a laxative called MeliLax worked in a few minutes every time to get the really hard poop plug out, then we focused on prunes etc to keep him going
Be careful with high fibre.. you’ll need soluble fibre like oats, fruit and veggies, not insoluble fibre like weetabix. Weetabix can be awful for a lot of children’s digestive systems!
prune pouch mixed in with Weetabix and yoghurt works for mine, warmed up
Have you tried the pouches of prunes? They are with the other baby food pouches in most supermarkets. We tried everything with my little one and even lactulose wasn't doing anything. A pouch of prunes a day and he was regular in no time. Now he just has one every day after his breakfast and he has no problems. Hope you find something that helps! X
